Women have an important role in the worldwide endeavour to increase the quality of life by acting as agents of change, potential, and sustenance.
The 67th UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) took place in New York between March 6th to 17th, 2023 focussing on the theme of innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls. The conference put a spotlight on all women worldwide and address the status quo with respect to gender equality and womens rights.
The 67th CSW was extra-special for team AkshayaShakti Welfare Association as our founder Ms. Mini Suboth had a golden chance to represent the Indian Development Foundation at the summit. The Indian Development Foundation (IDF) is a national non-governmental organization (NGO) that focuses on development, health, and education and has Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
Ms. Mini Suboth graciously engaged in vivid in-person discussions with the renowned individuals of various organizations representatives and delegates in presence of 181 Member States and observers, including 3 heads of state, 1 head of government, 2 vice presidents, and 116 ministers and delegates from around the world.
Gender equality is linked to an individuals socioeconomic standing. And when women have the opportunity to excel in their education, abilities, and occupation of choice, the nation advances as a whole. We are extremely grateful to Dr. Narayan AB. Iyer, CEO & National Coordinator of IDF, for providing us with the opportunity to be present at CSW67 and commit to keeping working at all levels to advance gender equality in society.
