Team Akshayashakti served a sumptuous lunch and donated some soap powder, milk powder and snacks for the residents.
They had been regularly visiting this home for the last 10 years. The oldage home was very needy with no support. After lock down our main work was on women and transgender empowerment and education. The oldage home had lot of supporters also. We had also celebrated Diwali with them. Today’s visit was heart touching. Most of the residents cried seeing us. They truly missed us and looked for emotional support . Half of the inmates are no more. felt really sad.
We had organised a music show for the residents. They truly enjoyed smiled danced. We have promised them that we visit them every month. A day worth remembering.
