They are humans. They walk like us. Appear like us. Talk our language. Hold talents like any other individual. Yet they are disregarded in many parts of our nation when it comes to education, skilling, and employment. Since day one, Akshayashakti has been staying true to its meaning – The Immortal strength, and is vigorously active in transgender rights advocacy in India. We campaigned, held events and workshops for transpeople in many parts of India to upskill and encourage them in fulfilling their ambitions so that they can live a dignified life in our society. On the 9th of October 2022, AIM Sports Foundation conducted 1-mile marathon to support the rights of the trans community where 150+ trans people from across the city participated in this virtuous cause along with other people of every age and sex. Maharashtra’s Hon.CM Shri. Eknath Shinde backed the cause with his presence and encouraged participants. All the contenders received e-certificates, medals, caps, and refreshments from the organization. The top three winners were felicitated with certificates and trophies from the organizers. Team Akshayashakti is thrilled to be a supporting partner of this event as we believe such small efforts can eventually create a big impact for a better future. We are living in 2022, its time we use art, creativity, technology, and resources to promote social, political, and economic justice, as well as advocate for the civil and legal rights of transgender and intersex persons.
